Growing up in the Midwest, my childhood dream of becoming a nurse was somehow replaced along the way with my love for creating successful, eye-catching advertising. It’s years later, and I still love the satisfaction of completing high-quality products that will meet and exceed my clients expectations and successfully promote their business.
Having spent over 26 years at The Ledger (a New York Times Co.) in Lakeland, FL, initially as a typesetter and compositor (in the cut and paste days) and later advancing to a senior advertising artist, I furthered my knowledge of graphic design with lots of hands on experience and by attending various classes including: Advanced Macintosh Computer; Quark Xpress; Adobe Photoshop World Tour Seminar; Skill Path “How to Design” Seminar and the Mac Design Conference & Digital Photography Expo. Highlights of my career at The Ledger include winning the following awards: Advertising Artist of the Year (3 time winner); Numerous Florida Newspaper Association (FNAME) Awards; Numerous Addy Awards, Imperial Polk County, FL Advertising Federation; and the prestigious New York Times Chairman’s Award.
On January 1, 2008, Barnett Graphics, Inc., was established and is dedicated to individualized, quality design services on a timely basis. Feel free to contact me for all of your graphic design needs including: ads, brochures, business cards, flyers, logos, newsletters, direct mail, posters, web banners, magnetic signs, window signs and more. If you need it, I can design it.
If I’m not designing, you can find me spending quality time with my husband and son. I enjoy vacationing in the mountains, hiking/walking, reading, gardening (even though I don’t have a green thumb) and watching movies.
